RELAY MODULE

General Description: An addressable control relay output on a single type 10 plug in module. Has 8 (Double Pole Double Throw) latching control relays organized in two banks of 4 relays each. Each bank operates independent of the other.

The relays are exercised when a host module sends the correct group address, relay bank, relay address and operation code through the "Whistle Port". The "Whistle Port" is a serial command port used by a host device to manage external functions such as this module. In SC host modules the relay parameters are configured in the host to perform the proper control functions.

The relay banks may be addressed the same to provide 4PDT (4 Pole Double Throw) switching.

Each bank of relays has a group address rotary switch and a bank select jumpers set by the user. These parameters allow up to 16 groups of relays to be operated by a single host.

The unit can be supplied with LED’s for status. In this configuration one form "C" contacts are available for external use.

Contains its own regulator and floats on negative power input. Reverse polarity and input voltage/current transients protection is provided. The supply requires a regulated or unregulated dc input power of 8 to 30 Volts.
