Description
The SR 900 products are compact, low-cost radio modems utilizing frequency hopping spread spectrum technology. They are designed to provide economical, reliable data communications between a master and a single/or clustered remote sites. The 1Watt RF output SR 901 radio complements lower-gain omnidirectional antennas to reach a large number of remote sites from a master station. For remote sites, the 100 mW RF output SR 900 radio provides excellent range with higher-gain Yagi antennas while placing minimum demand on DC power sources. Extended temperature range versions of both radios, the SR 900ET and the SR 901ET, offer full performance operation from -40ºC to +75ºC.
Typical uses
An SR 900 radio network provides low-cost, two-way communication of monitoring and control information for SCADA, electronic flow measurement, leak detection, distribution automation, demand side management, water supply and quality measurement, and other applications where reliable wireless data communication is essential. The units also work directly with the Signalcrafters 5000 Series equipment to provide a complete radio telemetry solution. Their compact modular design allows the SR 900 products to be easily integrated into existing equipment enclosures.
Immediate economical network solutions
Applying for radio frequency licenses is expensive and time consuming, particularly if a license request is denied. The resulting network redesign will delay installation and add to startup costs. Operating license-free under FCC Part 15 rules, a SR 900 radio network avoids the front-end costs, risks, and delays of obtaining radio network licenses. Once installed, an SR 900 radio network quickly pays for itself by eliminating monthly user fees and other recurring costs associated with subscriber-based communications networks.
Flexible networking
SR 900 radios can be configured for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or peer-to-peer communications.
Reliable communications
SR 900 radio networks are 100% application-dedicated. This means no lost or delayed data due to poor line quality or busy subscriber networks. Forward error correction and built-in diagnostics further enhance SR 900 network reliability.
Seamless external network connection
SR 900 radio networks integrate easily with VSATs, leased phone lines and other communications networks for cost-effective data communications with a large number of remote locations. SR 900 products are fully RS-232 compatible and support continuous data rates up to 19200 bps.
Installs in existing equipment enclosures
The compact size of the SR 900 products allows them to share enclosures with remote terminal units or other types of remote telemetry equipment. Low power consumption, using highly efficient switching regulation, means the SR 900 products can be operated from solar panels or from existing power sources.
